STEFFEN MAY ASK RELEASE LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 24. It was reported here today that jockey Earl Steffen planned to ask for his release from the Valdina Farms. J. J. Flanigan, the Valdina trainer, grounded Steffen in favor of another rider at Keeneland, and while this action on the part of the Valdina mentor may be only temporary, Steffen plans to ask for his release, a Lexington report had it.
