HUNT FOR JOSEPH CARBONE NEW YORK, N. Y., April 24. A widespread hunt was in progress yesterday for Joseph Carbone, cashier for the Literary Guild, who vanished simultaneously with discovery of a shortage of 00,000 or more in the organizations funds, according to police. An investigation of Carbones private affairs disclosed he lived in handsome style on his 0-a-week salary, police reported. He was the owner of a 8,000 home, a motor cruiser and three automobiles and a member of several exclusive clubs and employed two vants to care for his wife and two children, according to the police. i
