Fairmount Park to Hold Inspection Day Sunday Every Barn Will Be Well Filled With Horses for Public to View COLLINSVILLE, 111., May 18. Every barn at Fairmount Park will be well filled with horses on inspection day, slated for next Sunday afternoon, general manager D. C. Burnett said today. Hundreds of thoroughbreds began to arrive at the Collinsville course Sunday and will continue for the remainder of this week. Racing secretary Rollie Leigh and his assistants were busy assigning shipments to allotted stalls over the week-end, the vanguard coming from Churchill Downs and Sportsmans Park, which meetings close today. Among the first arrivals from Churchill was James E. Chesney, Belleville horseman, who checked in Sunday with 10 head which will be raced during the 26-day meeting. His horses include Franks Boy, All True, Blue Orchid, Mistletoe, Razor Sharp, Hiddenite, Miss Harrison and Miss Lexington. L. Resseguet, New Orleans horseman, was the first arrival from Sportsmans Park, his band consisting of seven horses. In the many shipments coming from Sportsmans Park, E. B. Shipps is the largest, having 17 head who are slated to be unloaded at Fairmount Park this morning. In the lot is Rejectable, Big Bubble, Merry Saxon, Norman Sloat and others. Secretary Leigh listed the following, who will ship here from Sportsmans: E. Denemark, C. Blair, J. F. Beck, H. Faw-cett, C. J, Gamble, Al Gaal, J. M. Grieve, H. Hockenbury, E. Rea, D. Stone, Mont Sanders, C. V. and W. F. Sparks, L. H. Thompson, H. C. Hoffman and D. C. Wil-helm. Shipments Coming From Downs Horses of J. W. Marchbank, California patron; Mrs. C. Gregory and Byrum Brothers will leave Churchill Downs Thursday, according to a wire received today by secretary Leigh. Byrum Brothers have 10 head and Marchbank and Gregory have 23 head between them. In the lot are Pollenator, Gallant Laddie, Lostagal and Boss Hoss, all handicap material at Fair-mount. Horses representing the following will leave Churchill this week for the Collinsville track: G. W. Church, Jack Carter, J. C. Ellis, Mrs. R. J. Murphy, R. C. Gillem, W. B. Howell, A. Jacobus, G. B. McCamey Rivermont Ranch, W. D. Smith, C. Botham and W. Wilkerson. Cecil Locklear, who holds the contract on George Crowell, promising apprentice boy, is due to get in today from Beulah Park, among the first of arrivals from that point. Others slated to come, are.: C. N. Finch, R. C. Groff, J. Zitnik, H. Forrest, F. Nugent, C. D. Boyd, C. Phelps, D. Jardon, J. F. ONeil, C. N. Pinon, L. Rodriguez, P. Wheatley, P. C. Williams, D. Christian, J. Bronnenberg, D. Emery, John Massey, R.E. Plemmons, Rivermont Ranch and Myrtle Maroon Stable. Work is progressing on the installation of the draining pump to take care of surplus water following heavy rains. This, will be completed by opening day, says manager Burnett, and will eliminate the possibility of water seepage under the grandstand as occurred last season. In a survey of horses of handicap caliber to race at Fairmount, racing secretary Leigh listed the following: Espino Gold, Pollenator, Boss Hoss, Forever Prince, Fer-gies Count, Franks Boy, Gallant Laddie, Lostagal, Par Avion and Mr. Ambassador. Others who will run in the high claiming races and grade "B" handicaps are Meet-sum, All Time, Valdina Blue, Dorothy Rock, Burgoo Miss, Rodes K., Maxiekin, Study Period, Quiz Kid, Dusky Duke and Miss Ethel.
