Lincoln Fields Emphasizes Sales of War Bonds, Stamps CRETE, 111., May 18. The purchase of War Bonds and Stamps was recommended with emphasis at Lincoln Fields, as the season opened today. Booths for the sale of these savings coupons were placed in both the grandstand and clubhouse enclosures and the Lincoln Fields Jockey Club hoped to raise a substantial sum for the national War effort. Also conspicuously displayed were signs advocating the purchase of stamps and bonds and appeals also were made directly to patrons over the facilities of the public , address system. Col. Matt J. Winn, executive director of the track, has appealed directly to his employes and to horsemen and they are expected to contribute liberally of their waeres and nurses.
