ANOPHELES, .--,- a prominent factor from the start, was in hand to the final quarter, responded willingly when called upon and ridden out, had little loft BLACK HIGHBROW began slowly, started to work his way up after reaching the turn and, continuing well through the stretch, headed ANNA-A-VISH and DAVID B. JR. in the last few strides The. latter entered contention with a rush after entering the stretch, but tired in the late stages, yet outfinished ANNA-A-VISH. The latter was under pressure after a half and faltered in the final eighth HIS HIGHNESS, allowed to drop far back, closed well through the stretch. OWASSE, saved back of the early pace and brought out in the stretch, moved to the leaders gradually and, wearing down DISTANT . ISLE, was ready to draw out. The latter, in hand for a half, got to the front under strong urging and held on well, but was not good enough. TORCH GLEAM, far back early, started up slowly after reaching the stretch and. coming with fine belated speed through ,the last eighth, was rapidly getting to the leaders. COMMENCEMENT had speed, drew out after reaching the turn, but failed to stay when the real test came. MIDLUCK also faltered under pressure. PAJAS was outrun. KING COTTON, well up from the start, obtained room on the inside when racing into the lead entering the stretch, opened up a good lead before reaching the last eighth, then held it under mild pressure to the end. HIGHSCOPE followed the early pace in hand, was forced wide on the turn and held on well in the drive. DONNAGINA, in close quarters early, moved up slightly when approaching the stretch, but was held safe by the leaders in the drive. TEXSTAR showed a fair effort from a slow start. STRAY CHORD had speed, bore out after reaching the turn and tired thereafter. HASTY STAR ran into an easy lead before going a quarter, was kept in hand rounding the turn, continued well under pressure approaching the last eighth, but tired in the closing stages and had little left. ALLEY swung to the outside entering the stretch andT" holding on well, was getting to the winner. MERRY BID had speed, lost ground during the entire race and tired in the drive. LOU HANS had no mishaps. JOYRIDE was through early. Won handily; second and third driving.- PIG TAILS, placed under snug reserve after opening up a clear advantage in the opening quarter, swerved before starting to draw out when rearing the stretch and continued to hold sway easily to the last sixteenth, where she was mildly shaken up. BOOK PLATE, a factor from the start, came to the outside for the drive and closed resolutely. POLYMELIOR, far hack until reaching the stretch, moved up steadily thereafter and finished fastest. TECHNICIAN raced evenly. EQUISTAR had speed, but met light interference and tired in the drive. PUMPGUN began sluggishly. GINGALL took command easily, but had to be hustled to hold WEST-HO safe through the back stretch and around the final turn, then drew out in the stretch, and tired, but lasted. YOUROFF, kept in hand to the final quarter, made a determined effort under pressure and was wearing down the winner at the end. SIGN worked her way up gradually .and was rapidly overtaking the leaders in a strong finish. WEST-HO- was placed to pressure after reaching the -final half mile and had no mishaps. Causey; bred by Mr. H. H. Knight. Winner entered to be claimed for ,250. WENT TO POST 5:11. OFF AT 5:11 CENTRAL WAR TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same; MAN ABOUT TOWN, a forward factor in the early stages, raced up on the inside rounding the final turn and then came to the outside after being straightened away in the final eighth, got up in the last stride to win narrowly. COMMISSION took command at the start, set all the pace, was drifting out slightly near the end and was unable to hold the winner in the closing drive. MISS BONNIE, having good early speed, forced the pace to midway of the final eighth, then tired. JIMMIE TOM, slow to settle into stride, moved up steadily after reaching the last half, but was never able to reach the leaders. RABY RATTLER raced in spots. Root; bred by Mr. W. R. Coe. Winner entered to be claimed for ,000. WENT TO POST 5:371. OFF AT 5:38 CENTRAL WAR TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won ridden out; second and third driving. ROYAL BLUE, well up in the early stages, rushed up on the outside rounding the stretch turn and came over on VEILED PROPHET after reaching the final eighth, causing the latter to go over on COMMIXION, who was racing on the inside, then came on to win going away under urging. VEILED PROPHET took command in the first seventy yards and set the pace to the final quarter, then tired slightly when bothered by the winner, but was much the best of the others. COMMIXION raced well up throughout and saved all ground possible rounding the final turn, but was forced to take up in the home stretch when in tight quarters. THE SKIPPER was never a serious threat. WESTERNS SON tired after, showing some early speed. Scratched 23578 Cornwallis, 112; 23467 English Harry, 112. Overweight Legal Advice, 1 pound.
