Marshall, who won the 1929 Derby Stakes on the North of Ireland sportsman, William Bar-netts Trigo, is among the many veteran riders who, since the advent of the war, have rt turned to their first love — the saddle. After night work in a munitions factory, Marshall rides exercise gallops at Epsom every morning.
