OFF AT 2:25 EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. REWARDED, prominent from the beginning but unable to match the early speed of ON BOARD, went to the inside for the drive and held on stubbornly. YANKEE NOTIONS had speed to race with the early leaders, went around them in the stretch and, finishing stoutly, just failed to get up. ON BOARD was hustled to the front on the outside in the backstretch and opened up a clear lead in the stretch, then hung. BAR GRENADE raced evenly and forwardly. SCOUTING, sluggish early, finished well. TIP YOUR HAT trailed early and was never prominent. AXELSON made a feeble bid on the turn, then flattened out AUDREY M. showed some speed between horses early, but quit. Axelson claimed by E. Wyatt. On Board claimed by Mrs. L. Wolf. TRIMDEM lacked early speed, moved up with a rush on the outside entering the stretch, wore down BALLACOLAS in the drive and was going away. VICTORY SWEEP moved into closer contention swiftly on the outside on the turn, went through between horses In the drive and finished fast BALLACOLAS opened up a clear lead on the turn, saved ground and held on well. UHHUH, sluggish early, moved up quickly through the stretch, then hung. SNAPPY VERSE had early speed, but flattened out. MARCHING FEET made up some ground from a very slow start. JR., a forward factor from the start, moved up between horses for the drive and closed stoutly, GALLANT HOUR took a clear lead on the turn, saved ground thereafter, but weakened. PRETTY IS had good early speed to set the pace, but weakened gradually when challenged. ASK ME finished well from a slow beginning. TIT TAT TOE was unable to keep up. HI GALLANT, in a contending position from the beginning, moved up stoutly in the stretch and caught LIKEASNOT in the final stride. The latter was hustled into a short lead and saved ground, but weakened when challenged. RIP AWAY lacked speed at any time. PLUCKY MUFFIN was waited with in reach of the early leaders until reaching the final turn, disposed of JEANAVIE to take command, then held SHEILA MAY safe. The latter, always prominently placed, made a determined bid in the stretch, but could not withstand the bid of the winner. JEANAVIE forced the pace to PATRIOTIC FOX, responded well to take a short lead in the stretch, but was not good enough. TAKE A CHANCE, under restraint early, closed gamely. PATRIOTIC FOX took command at the first turn, was well rated in front, but weakened under pressure. MIGHT STEU did not enter serious" contention at any time. GLASTAUDER trailed in a dull effort. The latter was driven into closer contention between horses on the turn, went to the inside for the drive and finished fast. REMBIRD had speed to race with LITTLE STINGS in the lead, raced the latter into submission and held on stubbornly. RIVER SCOTCH, slow to settle in best stride, closed a good gap. LITTLE STING flashed good early speed, but weakened. FLYING JENNY could not keep up while on the outside. MISS PIETY was never dangerous. TEEGREETZA was in close quarters on the turn. SIR SPRITE, slow as usual early, moved up quickly on the final turn, was taken to the outside in the stretch and, finishing very fast, was going away at the end under mild urging. TOP REWARD improved his position from a slow beginning, went through between horses on the turn, finished fasfbut could not threaten the winner. DIAMOND DICK was sent to the front in the run for the first turn, was rated there while saving ground, drew clear on the turn when called upon, but weakened. FLORIZAN SAM made up some ground when called upon. WISE PAISANO disployed good early speed, but weakened under pressure. ROMULUS vas unable to engage the leaders. ONE ONLY could not keep up.
