Polk Begins Riding Career DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 22. Trainer Otto Rasch started a new apprentice rider on what he hopes will be a successful career when he gave Elwood Polk the mount on Rare Flares in todays eighth race. Polk, a Virginia-born youngster of 16 years, is one of the lighter boys here, weighing only 89 pounds.
