Apprentice Joe Schoultz Will Ride at Hawthorne CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 6. — Apprentice Joe Schoultz, promising young protege of the former riding star, Ivan Parke, will be active for the Frederick W. Hooper stable this summer in Chicago, according to agent George Lisco. Lisco will leave the latter part of this week for Hawthorne to handle Schoultz engagements, who displayed promise immediately. He made his saddle debut at Oulfstream Park, where he won six races in a short time.
