BELLCODA forced the early pace, assumed command entering the stretch and was kept going under steady pressure. CELTICS, never far back, came between horses to close gamely. FLAMING HIGH opened a clear lead in the first quarter, was kept going under light urging and weakened in the final strides. EDGAR B , slow to settle in stride, finished fastest. KENGAR broke alertly, was allowed to drop out of contention and finished with good courage. ROYAL EDGE was caught in close quarters soon after the start and moved threateningly on the outside, then flattened out. SAY0NARA retired after a half mile. FLIGHT MAN and DAUBERS GIRL were outrun. TOP BOOTS, not hustled when outrun early, improved position on the inside, assumed command when the leaders raced wide on the stretch turn and drew out under pressure. MOONY BOY, forwardly placed, held on gamely. FLOAT AWAY forced the pace, was forced wide entering the stretch and finished well under a drive. LEO L., never far back, was not good enough. NIGHT EDITOR lacked early speed, saved ground on the inside, but flattened out under a drive. LOOKOUT MISS failed to keep up. REX HEROD set the pace under urging, then bore out slightly while tiring. CARE0N engaged DAUNTEDID midway on the turn, assumed command, drew out slightly, then was put to a steady drive to hold EASY AL safe. The latter, knocked back at the start, was sent up fast on the turn, raced true in the stretch to draw to the leader, then faltered. DAUNTEDID came over sharply after the star, assumed command, remained closest to the pace after relinquishing the lead, then weakened in the drive. WAR RAIDER raced evenly. MARY LIKE lacked early speed. CONNIE SAM quit badly after a quarter. DOCTOR CHARLES, forwardly placed on the inside, shied at a wet spot on the stretch turn and was eased at the end. QUIEN ES assumed command soon after the start, was under steady restraint while maintaining a sliaht advantage, rallied gamely when set down and drew out at the end. MARKSMAN moved with a rush to flank the leader leaving the backstretch, rode the leader close on the turn, then made a game bid, but was not good enough. FREE TRANSIT failed to respond to steady pressure through the stretch. YANKEE RAIDER raced evenly. RING CURTAIN passed tiring horses. The others were outrun. BULL TAR, well handled saved ground leaving the backstretch, responded to steady urging while outside of LIBERTY ANDY and was up in the final stride. The latter, steadied back of the early pace, rallied readily to assume command, remained down in the heavy going on the inside and weakened in the late strides after his rider lost his whip FLARES DURBAR, away slowly, moved into contention gradually and finished gamely on the extreme outside BUCK C finished with a rush between horses. FOXWICK, in close quarters early, rallied mildly. GOOD SWEEP tired after a half. TRACE CHAIN ran up on horses heels nearing the half-mile pole, recovered, made a mild bid but was not good enough. FLEET WEST flattened out under a drive. RUSTLE BROOM was through early ATOMIC WAVE quit badly. CAMOLINO, under a snug hold while within striking distance, moved up on the outside when ready, engaged LOLLING nearing the final quarter, assumed command and widened advantage under smart handling. LOLLING disposed of HELENE after a half mile, was kept out in the better going, appeared to weaken after losing command, then came again under steady pressure. HARSAM, outrun to the final quarter, closed gamely on the outside. WARRIOR PRINCE moved menacingly on the final turn, then quit. COUNT I. Q. was not good enough. GRUBSTAKE was outrun. Won easily; second and third driving NOAHVALE, in hand while allowed to settle in best stride, saved ground when set down, caught MISS LENA inside the final furlong and drew into a clear lead, then was eased at the end. ASTIFY, under steadying restraint while forcing the pace, rallied mildly when set down in the stretch. MISS LENA outran her field from the start, was steadied along under light restraint, was roused on the final turn while going wide and weakened in the late stages. LORD CAPRICE raced on even terms with the winner while under stout restraint, but was unable to match strides when set down, although making up ground at the end. The others we -e outrun. DUDIE, taken under stout restraint when outrun, raced out in the better going, rallied mildly when set down, but was unable to reach the leader. GARDEN POT moved into contention with a rush, then failed to respond to pressure. IS I AINT had no mishap. JOES MISTAKE was not good enough. HELPSWEEP was outrun. OAKMONT trailed.
