Jet Pilot May Set Larger Earning Pace Than Assault PIMLICO, Baltimore, Md., May 6.— Victory for Jet Pilot in the Preakness would put the Maine Chance Farm colt ahead of Assaults pace of last year in earnings. In 1946, Assault earned 24,195, the largest sum ever gathered by a thoroughbred in any one season. Last spring, at the conclusion of the Preakness, which he won, Assault had earned 40,870 in his two years of campaigning to that point. Jet Pilot now has 92,490 to his credit and, with 00,000 at least from the Preakness, the representative of Mrs. Elizabeth Graham will go into the Belmont ahead of Assault if he can Win the Preakness here on Saturday.
