PARICO, never far back and well ridden, assumed command entering the stretch and withstood a brisk drive to retain his advantage. PRIVATE ANDY, away slowly and badly outrun to the stretch, came between horses during the drive and finished strongly. BORDER SCOUT, in close quarters approaching the stretch, made a good bid when clear, then faltered nearing the finish. ALTUCE began slowly, was far back to the stretch, then closed with a rush in spite of bearing in badly during the late stages. INSOLATE was outrun. TURKEY FOOT swerved to the inside when roused for the drive. CARMELITA H. gave way after reaching the lead on the stretch turn. FANNIE MAC had a rough trip. RIO RITA tired. SGT. JIMMY, blocked when moving up in the stretch and forced to take up, failed to recover. OBELISK, a sharp factor from the start, assumed command entering the stretch, then drew clear without need of urging. ANAKO, much used engaging ALLISONIA to the stretch, shook off the latter, but could not hold the winner. MUZZ, away slowly, bore out badly entering the stretch, then finished fast on the extreme outside. ASTOUND, far back to the last quarter, closed strongly under punishment. ALLISONIA made the pace to the stretch under pressure from ANAK0J then gave way. MAJOR ATTACK had no mishap. NEWSCASTER could not keep up. NITE CRIES was done early Scratched— 22111 Flyoma, 114. MATE ME, never far back, drifted to the extreme outside for the stretch run and, responding to vigorous urging, disposed of the leaders during the last sixteenth. UNCLE ROB, away sluggishly, was taken up approaching the upper turn, was blocked during the drive, then finished fast when clear, but could not overtake the winner. BENEVA engaged SWEET COMET to the final furlong, then reached the lead between calls, but could not hold her advantage, faltering near the finish. SWEET COMET assumed command early, made the pace until inside the stretch, then weakened RESTRICTION was outrun. BEN GRAY never was dangerous. DIRECTOR began slowly and was far back throughout. SHY GUY, on the outside and racing within striking distance of the pacemaker to the stretch, responded readily when shaken up and, after disposing of the leaders, won with something left. BIG DITCH engaged MR. KILR0Y to the stretch, reached the lead between calls, but was unable to hold the winner. LUCKY CHAMP, never far back, closed willingly between horses. MR. KILR0Y went to the front early, made the pace while engaging BIG DITCH to the stretch, then weakened. STEPINFOX broke alertly, but could not keep up. EXECUTION raced greenly. PURITAN, in hand to the final quarter, came willingly through the stretch, but could not reach the winner. DAUBERUP, slow to get going and far back to the last three-eighths, finished fast. PIPLAD tired near the end. PAPER CLIP, forced to go to the outside when crowded on the stretch turn, could not threaten thereafter. OLD BET raced prominently to the stretch, then weakened.
