Illinois Notes ARIINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, Ul., June 26. Louis Augustus and Mr. and Mrs. John Gilbert were up from Louisville to witness the. Equipoise Mile renewal Saturday. Lou-jac and Eternal Reward carried the Augustus and Nahm silks in the stake. Chester J. Hall conditions the Palls City-owned stable. Trainer R. Bohn reported that 15 members of the Mrs. E. M. Kohout and Orrwood Stables are to be shipped to North Randall on Sunday. Jockey L. Grubb, who Is visiting his home in Evansville, Ind., while serving a 10-day suspension, sent word that he will return to Arlington in time to. accept mounts on next Saturdays local program. Tom Smith who trains the Mrs. Ada L. Rice stable thoroughbreds, received My Man Dan, Hie Heel and Lucky You from the Rice farm, which is located near Wheaton, 111. Jockey T. Williams left for Ascot Park to ride My Boy Tom in the Ascot Gold Cup. Williams will return to Arlington Park in time to accept mounts Monday. j Walter Buff, veteran color man at Chicago tracks, reports that some 500 sets ; i of silks are registered in the Arlington Jockey scale room. John Nissings Silver Fire, Comcatchme, Capt. Absolute and No Peekin arrived at Hawthorne from Omaha in charge of trainer J. T. Plgg. James E. Stone, widely known Louisville thoroughbred breeder and owner, was on hand for the Saturday card at Arlington Park. Henry Louden is training a useful stable for the Falls City sportsman. Monte Parke, who trains the John A. j ; i Kinard, Jr., stable, which is presently campaigning at the Detroit Fair Grounds, Is to be here Sunday. Parke will make plans for Johns Joy, crack juvenile, scheduled to start in several Illinois stakes, before returning to the Motor City. Mr. and Mrs. William L. Bishop came over from Anna, Ul., to visit their son, William Hal Bishop, and Mrs. Bishop. The Bishop thoroughbreds are presently quartered at Arlington Park. William Crump announced that Arthur B. Hancocks Nitromond and Scene have been returned to the Hancock farm. Clifford Lussky, well-known Louisville, Ky.t owner, was at Arlington over the weekend and inspected the horses he has in training here, under the supervision of Odie Clelland. J. E. Sargents two-year-old filly, Avoca Message, arrived from Pontiac, and she has been turned over to C. W. Tague for conditioning. Crump also sent W. W. Wickhams Weedy One to River Downs and Frank Clelland is to condition the horse at the Queen City course. Ralph W. Shaw stated that his useful performer, Shaws Pride, suffered an eye injury in his last start and that his charge will be temporarily out of action.
