MISS BRAND, slow to settle into best stride, secured room on the inside entering the stretch, moved up quickly and was up in the final stride TOTAL VICTORY, sluggish early, improved his position gradually, swung around the outside on the final turn, then swerved in, bothered SHIPS PASS and held on well. SHIPS PASS, a strong contender from the beginning, was in close quarters when bothered by TOTAL VICTORY in the stretch and was squeezed back. GOLD BOY had early speed, took a clear lead on the backstretch, saved ground, but weakened. PROMINENCIA was unable to engage the leaders. ALLDEPENDS had speed to the final turn, then flattened out. BROAD MARGIN had speed to outrun the field, took a clear lead, drew out on the turn, saved ground, but had to be kept under pressure at the end. CALM PORT was eased out of close quarters in the backstretch, swung around the outside on the turn, moved to the inside, crowded EL OSUNA into close quarters, then continued well. NUNERAL, unable to match the speed of the leader, finished strongly. FOUR BELLS had early speed, but weakened. MR. X, away slowly, was unable to enter contention. HIGH AIR, fastest away, was eased back from the pace, swung around the outside for the drive and drew clear under hard urging. SLOWER was hustled into a clear lead at once, was rated in front, swerved out and brushed MARBACKA in the drive, then held on well. MARBACKA, never -far back, moved up strongly in the stretch, bumped SLOWER mildly in the drive and held on well. WILT THOU raced in closest pursuit of the early leader, challenged strongly at the furlong pole, but weakened. YOUNG BUDDY could not improve his position. GAY TEXAN was done early. RUBY, a forward factor from the beginning, saved ground on the rail on the turn, took command in the stretch and continued stoutly. MY TET RAMBLER was hustled to the front in the backstretch and around the turn, met the bid of the winner stubbornly and held on well. MISS MILITANT raced in closest pursuit of the early pacemaker, but weakened in the drive. MONFALON trailed to the stretch, then passed tired horses. BILL G. raced forwardly, but was forced wide on the turn and flatttened out. AIRPAN was unhurried early, secured room on the inside to improve his position on the turn, drove between horses to take command in the stretch bore in on ELBOW ROOM near the finish and drew clear. ELBOW ROOM had speed from the beginning while racing with HIGH EGO on the inside, disposed of the latter in the stretch to take command on the rail, was bothered and taken up when the winner bore over, but was beaten at the time. POUTING MAC had early speed while on the inside, but stumbled twice on the backstretch, bore out slightly entering the stretch and finished well. PLAY HANDS broke well, but could not keep up. SANTA CLAUS showed nothing. HIGH EGO had early speed to race with the pace, but flattened out in the stretch. LEAPING MOOSE fell back steadily. Scratched 51160 King Gail, 109. JOES LADDIE finished fast after racing sluggishly early. MISS BUSYBEE lacked early speed, was forced to lose ground on the final turn when making her move , and was not prominent.
