Ariel Ace Late Nomination To Curtain Up Handicap FAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., May 11. — Racing Secretary Charles J. McLennan today announced late receipt of the nomination of David Fergusons Ariel Ace for Fridays Curtain Up Handicap, 0,000 six-furlong event which will feature the Michigan Racing Associations opening-day program. Ariel Aces nomination was received by mail postmarked before the closing deadline last Saturday midnight. McLennan assigned Ariel Ace 105 pounds for the Curtain Up, which also drew 18 other nominations. Ariel Ace ran Monday at Churchill Downs, finishing second to Blue Badge in the Manual Purse, also at six furlongs.
