DOC STEARN, well rated while making the pace, responded to strong urging and withstood the extended drive of BAROLO. The latter was always prominent, but showed a tendency to loaf after reaching the leaders. CHILIBONES broke in a tangle and made up ground steadily in a good effort. WATER MELON loomed a threat in the early stretch and tired. BUZZABOUT was through early. SUPER FLIGHT was never a factor. NUPTIAL raced in contention only briefly. GINNY GAL was through early. CY DART moved boldly to reach the leader entering the stretch, then drew clear after bumping with IWO JIMA. The latter gained a commanding lead on the turn, but was no match for the winner. FAIR ANN made a bold rally midway of the turn and tired. GREAT HOPE could not seriously threaten while passing tired horses. STILTS raced well in the late stages. CANT FAIL flattened out after showing good early speed. BABY PAULY was outrun. HONEYBUG turned in a miserable effort. FAUSTIN showed good speed to join LITTLE ORCHID immediately after the start, disposed of that one entering the stretch and drew clear to win easily. DJINN closed willingly, but was outdistanced by the top one. LITTLE ORCHID raced with the leader around the turn and faltered. GRENADE lacked a rally. CHINNELLA raced evenly. SKY ROAMER was unhurried while trailing along the backstretch, saved ground while rallying and outfinished MISS GOSSIP. The latter was taken up soon after the start, moved through along the inside in the vicinity of the half-mile pole, wrested command from DOLLYS IMAGE shortly thereafter, but was unable to hold the winner. BELLE MOOSE showed speed and tired only slightly. TOP RAIDER weakened. DOLLYS IMAGE weakened badly after being in front along the backstretch. BUNGALESE quit. LARKY DAY, under stout restraint while - racing with the pace from the start, was immediately joined by COEUR when HOT fell, responded to good C urging and, while outrunning his rival on the flat, held sway. COEUR, rated off the pace, moved to LARKY DAY on the final turn, but was not good enough. LECHE HOMBRE moved well approaching the final fence and failed to make up ground thereafter. POLICHINELA II. was never a threat. RATCATCHER was outrun. ASTRAL, within easy striking distance while under restraint, rallied from the outside and wore down MASON DIXON. The latter moved sooner than expected to reach the leaders after the first mile, gained a slight lead through the stretch, but was not good enough. SINGULAR gained the lead after the first mile while still under stout restraint, then weakened in the final furlong. EMPTY NOOSE weakened after setting the pace for a mile. DAUNTLESS BO, well placed while under restraint for the first mile, lacked a rally. EXPLORATION dwelt at the start. THE DEMANDER was through after a mile.
