SWEET IRENE bore in while closest i to the pace, was brought around the leader en the final turn and held SUN TANNERY safe under punishment. The latter was off slowly, worked her way up gradually on the rail in the final furlong and closed well. DELORAH was within striking distance throughout and showed a good effort. OLOS STAR made the pace on the rail, drew clear under pressure and held DAY clear under punishment. The latter was not hurried early, moved up steadily when called upon and finished resolutely. GOLD CALL went very wide on the first turn, moved up between horses and wore down KEEN OLO for third. The latter tired. BORDER MAN ran out on the first turn. MISS MONTSIN showed nothing. PHANTOM HEELS was forced to lose considerable ground on both turns, drifted out in the final sixteenth while on the outside and got up in the closing stages. DAGO DAY, while holding a slight lead, swung a trifle wide into the stretch and just missed. DARK LACE went up on the rail to be with the pace, gained command between calls in the closing furlong and just missed. PENNSTOWN was slow to gain stride. ANDICO, never far back, improved her position gradually on the outside and outfinished TRUE TIME. The latter made the pace on the rail and faltered near the end. COUNT CHAT forced the pace on the outside and weakened in the final furlong. EL CABRILLO was slow to begin. TOPNOTCH quit. SUSIE C. was outrun. BESSIE VANCE ran out on both turns. DORKO safe under punishment. The latter lost some ground while improving position and closed strongly. ROYAL BORN swerved in shortly after the start and impeded RANAHEAD, drew clear before the first. turn and tired badly after three furlongs. FANNIE MAC had no mishap. RANAHEAD failed to rally after being bothered. EASY TWIST, bothered early, gave way after showing brief speed. GRINNING GIRL ran out badly on the first turn and was pulled up. KASLICK went up on the inside to gain the lead, swung wide coming out of the second turn, drew away, but was placed under light restraint on the fourth turn and won under mild punishment. SUPERWOLF, reserved early, moved up boldly on the fourth turn, but was not good enough. SCOTLAND YARD, steadied in the opening stages, moved up gamely when called upon and faltered in the final furlong. MAE AGNES had no excuse. SANTA FE had brief speed and quit. VALLEYS PAL went up between horses, threatened boldly on the fourth turn, but was not good enough. HONEST ENGINE saved ground and had no excuse. RICKS RAFT, eased back when blocked and hemmed in on the third turn, failed to rally. UPTON tired after making the early pace. LIGHT-FOOT LADY quit.
