BUBBLE GUM, hurried when outrun down the backstretch, was hustled to the front with a rush on the upper turn and, in a long drive, withstood TRIXIE. The latter steadily picked up the field, came to the middle of the track for the drive and closed determinedly under punishment. CLEVELANDER slipped through next to the inside rail on the turn, but could not overtake the leaders. SPRING CHIMES was forced to take up slightly when in close quarters on the far , turn, then could not seriously threaten thereafter. MY SISTER failed to stay after displaying early speed. ELDERBROOK was never dangerous. DICKS GAL quit. LADY JOAN was taken up sharply near the half mile post and failed to respond thereafter. Scratched— 739094 Jimpin, 109. MERRYMARCH, well ridden, was forwardly placed between horses, disposed of SGT. BROWN after a half mile, then gave way momentarily to MOUNTAIN ROAR midway of the stretch, but came again near the end and lasted over PAPPYS PRIDE. The latter came to the inside for the drive and finished resolutely under punishment to outgame MOUNTAIN ROAR. The latter was rushed into contention on the upper turn, took command entering the stretch, but faltered in the final stages and could not hold the leaders. DEBABY, much used, engaging for the early advantage, had little left at the finish. SGT. BROWN failed to stay after racing forwardly to the final furlong. KENDOR was outrun. MISS GOLIGHTLY raced within easy range of the early po leaders while saving ground, then came in for the stretch run, but lacked a rally. VALDINA TYRANT was in close quarters going into the first turn, stumbled and almost lost his rider near the three-furlongs marker, then - recovered readily, but could not endanger the leader.
