Edward Lasker Purchases Boswell Lady From Church LOS ANGELES, Calif., May 20.— Boswell Lady, stakes-winning daughter of Boswell and out of the Arlington Futurity winner Toro Nancy, has been sold to Edward Lasker, Beverly Hills sportsman, by Norman W. Church. The four-year-old filly suffered a leg injury in last years running of the 0,000 Westerner at Hollywood Park and was retired to the breeding paddock. She attended the court of Quick Reward this season and* has been booked to Count Speed for 1950. The transaction, at private treaty, was reported as in five figures. Boswell Lady won the Prairie State Stakes of 1947 at Washington Park, in which she defeated Free America, Salmagundi and Loujac, among others. She was second to the champion Bewitch in the Princess Pat Stakes and again came home on the heels of Bewitch in the Arlington Lassie Stakes. Last year she was second to Mrs. Rabbit in the California Purse at Hollywood Park and was beaten but a length in the Hollywood Oaks by Flying Rhythm and Belle Jolie. Her best race, however, came in the mile and one-quarter , Westerner -where, despite breaking down, she had the heart to finish a game fourth behind Solidarity, Drumbeat and The Web H.
