GRAN CITELLA, well placed on the rail, was taken to the outside wheri~straightened for the drive, disposed of the leaders and drew away. C-RUDY went into a clear lead quickly and held on well, but was no match for the winner. JACKS NIECE was prominent from the break, gained the lead briefly in the stretch and weakened. BUSY LIZ, slow to -begin, went by tired horses. MILL CAT was outrun. MUCH PLEASURE was under urging in the backstretch to reach s contending position and quit after a half mile. EAGER. AGNES was practically left at the post. INFLUENTIAL had brief speed. SHADOWED and GIANT IMAGE broke poorly. BLACK CAT, never far back while saving ground early, went up on the outside to be on even terms for the lead in the stretch, took command and lasted over SWELL CHANCE. The latter was slow to reach best stride, went up on the rail in the drive and was getting to the winner. VALDINA DATE lost considerable ground reaching the lead on the turn, came in when clear and faltered near the end. HILLTOPPER gave way after racing forwardly for a half. MARBLE FORD was hustled along to establish the lead on the outside, came in midway~of the turn when clear, drew away and won in hand. MINIM, in close quarters and taken up going into the turn, moved up between horses and closed stoutly, but was no match for the winner. GAME WEATHER saved ground and had no excuse. The latter held a slight lead on the rail until the closing furlong, then faltered. HIGH MAYER, slow to begin, raced wide coming out for the turn. GAL NETTIE caught tired horses. GIFT MAEDIC was outrun. SUCCESS moved up gamely in the stretch to be with" the leaders, then quit. CANT CATCH ME raced far back throughout and was forced wide coming out for the turn. SUPERWOLF went up between horses on the backstretch, saved ground on the far turn while closest to the pace, took a clear lead midway of the stretch, then hung and was headed between calls the closing furlong, then came again and just got up in the final stride. GOOD STORY Was roused when threatened going into the far turn and drew out again, held on well when headed and went into command between calls during the closing furlong and just missed. STORM KING saved ground and turned in a good effort. SHOWDOWN menaced the leader after a half, but lacked a rally in the drive. SANTA FE had no excuse. JACK S.
