BILL ROSS, in hand to the upper turn, took command when ready and, after establishing a clear lead, increased the advantage without urging. SOMA LAD went to the front at the start, made the pace to the -upper turn, then gave way to the winner, but held on well to best the others. JUDGE 0., outrun to the stretch, finished determinedly. BELLBROOK saved ground throughout, but failed to stay after showing early speed. LAYOUT began slowly and never was dangerous. THE BAGEL was done early. WALTERS BOY WAS INJURED WHILE AT THE POST, WAS ORDERED SCRATCHED BY THE STEWARDS AND ALL WAGERS ON HIM WERE REFUNDED. Scratched— 73247 Walters Boy, 115. BIG GRAVEL, a keen factor from the start, went td the front early, gave-way momentarily to PINE GROVE at the half, then came again when ready and drew out to win with something left. PINE GROVE, forwardly placed throughout, reached the lead after going a half, was unable to hold the winner, but was easily best of the others. NO PEACE failed to rally when set down through the stretch. CHALVAAL was done early. BAR POOL had early speed. WEGOTONE never was prominent. ■ . Scratched— 73402 Free Meal, 108. CHOCK ABLOCK went to the front early, made the pace to the final furlong, then faltered and could not hold the winner. TED MOSQUERO made a bold bid entering the stretch, but failed to stay during the last furlong. HIKE was never prominent and had no mishap. GIT gave way after racing prominently to the stretch.
