Tavares Riding at Ak-Sar-Ben AK-SAR-BEN, Omaha, Nebr., May 23.— One of the more promising apprentices scheduled to ply his chosen profession during the forthcoming Ak-Sar-Ben meeting is the diminutive Tony Tavares, who is under contract to the former topflight reinsman Mose Helm. Tavares enjoyed considerable success on the west coast since riding his first winner last September at Del Mar and he was originally under contract to L. T. Whitehill. Local horsemen are high in the -praise of the lightweight saddlemite and seem to think he has the prime requisites of becoming one of the nations outstanding reiiismen.
