H0BIE B. was hustled to shake off PRO TANTO early, was taken under restraint after drawing clear, and won with speed in reserve. GREEN BEAU raced forwardly and continued on well. TROMBEJIM made up some ground under pressure through the stretch. DASH FOR CASH rallied well to loom a threat in the early stretch, then weakened. CANNOBIE LEE moved boldly on the turn, attained command from the extreme outside and was only mildly urged through the stretch. VAMANOS reached the leaders from the inside entering the stretch, but was unable to stay with the top one. TORONTO made up ground, but was beaten off by the top pair. ARCHMERE set the pace for a half mile and quit AIRDROME faltered after pressing the pace. FIFTH WHEEL had brief speed. IDA C, steadied just off the quartet vying for command on the turn, moved to the outside, but was unable to wear down the top one. FURBELOW showed speed and held on fairly well. JALEEN showed good speed, but could not keep up. CELESTIA wrested command on the turn and faltered. MISTAMBO assumed command without too much effort, but quit badly and was impeded. GARY LESLIE rallied-willingly to attain command in the early stretch and held on tenaciously. Lynchs claim of fcul against the winner was not allowed. JOBIE, outrun in the early stages, made up much ground in a good effort. HASTY SUN showed a. good effort while making up ground from the outside, then came back lame. POSER raced MISS BARON into defeat early, was headed briefly at the furlong pole and came again to gain the nod over VALS KID. The latter moved through along the inside to take command and fought it out gamely in the final strides. COMPOSER moved to the leaders nearing the stretch and flattened out thereafter. MISS BARON showed speed along the inside and was crowded while tiring. ISM broke alertly, could not keep up and was kept in a bit close along the rail leaving the backstretch. CANCELLATION lacked room briefly near the three-eights pole. TACARO BRIAR, within easy striking distance without being hurried, responded to extreme pressure and gained the verdict over RINGNECK. The latter, rated just off the top pair, responded to attain command at the furlong pole, then Just missed while holding on gamely. CHERISH closed fastest of all on the extreme outside. DARBY DAMOUR raced on the inside while holding a narrow advantage, but faltered in the drive. VANSLAM lacked a" rally. NORMRICH was rushed up racing with DARBY DAMOUR and faltered. JAZZ BABY was ridden confidently while following the pace, rallied through the stretch and wore down the tiring BAT GIRL. The latter established a clear early lead, set the pace without serious opposition, was still far in front inside the furlong pole, then guit badly. HOMING PIGEON rallied from the inside, but was no match for the winner. MY CELESTE made up ground too late. SCOTCH DAISY was rated when unable to outrun BAT GIRL, but flattened out when set down.
