DORKO was prominent on the outside, took command and drew out between calls in the final furlong, then weakened near the end and held CHANCE TAKER clear under punishment. The latter was well placed between horses and showed a good effort. TOPNARD lacked speed, worked his way up between horses and closed well. DARK LACE gave way in the closing furlong after setting the pace. OVERTAKE had no excuse. REAL SWEET was slow to gain stride. GRAND RIVER was outrun. GAL NETTIE had brief speed. BRIGHT JIMMY quit. BUTTON SHOES was hustled along to be closest to the pace going into the turn, displaced LISTEN TO ME and, tiring in the final stages, lasted over MINIM. The latter was steadied while saving ground, moved up gamely between horses and was getting to the winner. LISTEN TO ME made the early pace on the rail, held on well when headed and showed a good effort. HARRY D., away fast, stumbled shortly after the start and dropped back, then finished with good courage. BURNT PAIR had no excuse. RUSTY LAD and COMIC LADY were outrun. BETTER BUY, prominent from the break, went up on the rail to reach the lead and outfinished DAME DHONNEUR. A claim of foul against the winner by rider of DAME DHONNEUR was not allowed. The latter trailed during the opening stages, moved up on the inside coming out of the turn, challenged on the outside and on near even terms in the final 70 yards, just missed. FLASHER had no excuse. GALLA BABE tired after forcing the early pace. BIT 0 PROSE went up on the inside on the turn to be prominent and gave way. ROSILY showed little. LADY LUREEN shook off SIR BIM and came to the inside midway of the turn, then lasted over SANDSLINGER. The latter, slow to gain stride, went up between horses and was gradually getting to the winner. VERONA SANDS, badly outrun in the opening stages, improved position on the rail and closed resolutely. STEEPLE JACK had no mishap. WAR RULER was hustled along to be in a contending position and tired after a half mile. SIR BIM gave way steadily after being outrun for the lead. DONARIS showed a poor effort.
