Y., May 23. — The Calumet Farm stables Coal-town was assigned 138 pounds for the mile and one-quarter of the 0,000 Suburban Handicap to be contested on Memorial Day. The son of Bull Lea and Easy Lass is asked to concede from 13 to 14 pounds to his opposition. Coaltown has compiled an impressive record this year, starting six times and not tasting defeat. His Suburban appearance at the moment can be looked upon as extremely doubtful. Trainer Jimmie Jones, who has voiced strong opposition to weights in excess of 130 pounds, will in all probability keep him in the barn. Shy Guy, from Dixiana, is next in line with 125 pounds, and this fellow is also considered a doubtful starter. He is destined for Detroit racing. Better Self Allotted 120 Vulcans Forge, owned by I. J. Collins, will have 124 pounds as his burden, and Double Jay is next with 121. Better .Self, from the King Ranch, is in with 120. Trainer Max Hirsch considered him a probable starter for the King Ranch. Conniver, owned by Harry La Montage, has 120, while. Pilaster is in with 118.
