HIS GRACE went to the front early, established a commanding lead before reaching the stretch and retained the advantage without need of urging! SUN UMBER moved up stoutly between horses approaching the stretch, closed determinedly under punishment, but could not reach the winner. EUGENE was outrun early and forced wide at the final turn, then failed to rally when straightened for the drive. OFF AT 6:061 EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate for all but MASON DIXON. Won driving; second and third the same. DA DO, in hand until reaching the stretch, went to the front when settled for the drive and then increased her margin while under brisk urging. HI NEIGHBOR went into command entering the stretch, held on willingly, but could not withstand the winner. GOTHIC, reserved to the last three-eighths, was unable to reach the leaders when hard ridden through the stretch. BIG MUDDY tired after racing prominently to the stretch. BOIS JOLI made the pace until near the stretch, then gave way. COO was never a dangerous threat. MASON DIXON began poorly and never entered serious contention. Scratched— 73269 Cactus Foot, 116. Da Do claimed by Lamoureux and Peat. Attendance, 20,175; Total Mutuel Pool, 77,822.
