■ Interesting Card at Garden State Park Includes Sprint and Route Attractions . 1 : : Istan to Vie With Mark Up/ Boom Boom in Dash; Alexis Faces Pennon and Dr. Almac GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., "May 23. — Presenting one of the most interesting programs of the current New Jersey racing season. Garden State Park tomorrow co-features its attractive presentation with the six-furlong Kings Highway Purse and the one mile and 710 yards Paulsboro Purse. The Kings Highway field is headed by Brookfield Farms Istan, who won the final race of the recent Pimlico meeting in track record-equalling time. Others in the race are, Christiana Stables Mark Up; Frank Vacovellis Bullow, James Cox Brady and Howard Oots Boom Boom, Mrs. James V. Stewarts Singing Doll, Raritan Stables Sir Rusty and W. M. Wickhams Wickers Wish. The Paulsboro also promises a keen contest with the following performers named overnight: Mrs. J. V. Stewarts Dr. Almac, Christiana Stables Alexis, W. M. Wickhams Wickers Wish, Hi W. Finchers Pennon, A. J. Fralingers Jetsam, Rarco Stables Daralet and Fertile Acres Farms Gray Warrior. Istan, a four-year-old gelded son of Heliopolis, was brought along steadily by trainer D. W. Kerns this spring and his patience bore fruit in the Pimlico effort. Establishing his own pace throughout, Istan carried 118 pounds and completed six panels in 1:10% to match a record established the previous fall by The Pincher. Recent training moves suggest that Harry Isaacs charge is ready to toss in another sparkling performance. Another Pimlico sprinter in tomorrows race is Mark Up, a four-year-old homebred. This fellow raced last in the Baltimore Spring, Handicap and was second to Laran while finishing in front of some pretty shifty campaigners. Boom Boom and Sir Rusty won- their last starts with the former impressing as the better of the two. Bullow has a touch of class but has failed to impress in two starts this season. Singing Doll tired a bit in her last and may improve, while Woodford Lad has been idle for some time. Alexis has shown little in two races this year, but will be stretched out to his favorite distance tomorrow, the Paulsboro being at a mile and 70 yards. Alexis, like Istan, is a son of Heliopolis and, off his best form of past years, could tie knots in a field like he meets tomorrow. Penn6n, in the opinion of many, could develop into the top claim of the New Jersey season. He was taken from Hal Price Headley for 5,000 on the first day of the meeting, and in his lone* start for Fincher was a driving winner over sprinters. Dr. Almac, Wickers Wish and Daralet finished as named behind Dart By in a race here last week and it is liard to see-them finishing in reversed order tomorrow. Dr. Almacs race was quite impressive for he bowed only by a length in the one mile and a sixteenth time of 1:44-. Jetsam and Gray Warrior seemed overmatched.
