Delaware Notes DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 4. A safety measure, designed to eliminate after-dark traffic hazards at the track, has been instituted for this meeting. Delaware state police will be stationed at the entrance to the grounds and will permit only Delaware Park automobiles to* enter the grounds after nightfall. Ring True, Beautiful Ann, and Beret, who were under trainer Danny Sheas care locally, have been shipped to Merryland Farm to be turned out. Greentree Stables Local Option was included in a shipment of thoroughbreds from the New York area. Sol Rutchick also shipped four heads to this course, while trainer Claude Feltner received the two-year-old, Aflame, from the Berryville, Va., Farm. The Wilmington Advertising Club will hold its annual turf outing at Delaware Park on June 16. The feature race that afternoon will be named for the local organization, which will present a gift to the winning jockey. Jockey Porter Roberts received a portable radio last year. Local horsemen have nominated trainer Charley White as their candidate for best dressed man honors of 1949. They figure Charleys chief competition will come from J. P. "Sammy" Smith of the New York circuit. It will be a close fight, but Whites supply of suits seems unlimited. William Helis Selector, who finished in the money behind Quiz Show in two feature events at Garden State Park, arrived with his stablemates, Unabridged, Flaming Acres, Almond, Voltaire and Yogi. Selector will meet Quiz Show for the third time in the Christiana Stakes. Jockey Ken Scawthorn arrived with agent Benny Austin from Suffolk Downs and will ply his trade at this oval for the remainder of the 32-day meeting. Scawthorn expects to do the bulk of the riding for Danny Sheas public stable. King Ranchs Task, a stakes-winning juvenile in 1947, has failed to show good form this season and has been shipped to the farm by trainer W. J. "Buddy" Hirsch. C. Ewing Tuttles Double Brandy, a promising three-year-old by Questionnaire, was shipped from Belmont Park and will be pointed for the 5,000 Kent Stakes to be run on Saturday.
