CONTORTIONIST, unhurried for a half, lost ground while improving his position and, in the middle of the track in the drive, disposed of the leaders. DR. RUSH, well placed from the break, lacked room through the stretch, forged between horses and finished resolutely. GIFT MAEDIC was prominent between horses, went into command briefly between calls in the stretch and faltered. CHILLEE KNIGHT trailed until straightened for the drive, then went up with good courage between horses. MARTHARINE had no excuse. LARRAN gave way in the drive. TREE LAND weakened after forcing the pace until the drive. FEATHER-BOB quit. FULL CRY was through early. SUNNY BOO went up on the outside under energetic handling to reach a slight lead, was steadied on the turn and relinquished the lead willingly, disposed of ROMAN VICTORY when ready and drew away under strong hand urging. MISS STONE, well placed from the break, swung slightly wide coming out for the turn, was taken to the inside for the drive and forged through on the rail to displace GOLD EAGLE. The latter, away in a tangle, was rushed up on the outside to reach the ead, drew cut under hand urging on the turn and faltered near the end. SWING AGAIN showed in front at the break, shook off RAG DOLL STAR on the turn, then, under hard punishment, held ONE ROSE clear. The latter, away alertly, lacked -speed to remain in contention, went up on the inside to be closest to the pace, but could not overtake the winner In a good effort JOHNIES BOBBIE was practically left at the post. TEA DEB bore out rounding the turn and went very wide coming into the drive. AURORA DEB was outrun. RAG DOLL STAR, away slowly, had brief speed and quit. GANGWAY, taken under hard restraint for a half, made up ground steadily when roused, lost considerable ground while moving up coming out of the turn, disposed of the leaders and won with something left. BROLITE, a sharp contender from the break, took command briefly between calls in the stretch, held on gamely, but could not resist the winner. JACK S. L. was blocked and hemmed in on the backstrelch and was bearing in, was brought around horses on the far turn and faltered in the closing furlong. SANTA FE reached the lead briefly after six furlongs and tired. REIGHS COMET raced prominently between horses until the stretch and weakened. SUPERWOLF was outrun. PUDDLE JUMPER, reserved for a half mile, lost some ground while engaging the leaders on the far turn, took command and drew clear under energetic handling. BOAT MAN moved up between horses to be on even terms for the lead and drifted in through the stretch when clear, but was not good enough. MAE AGNES lasted best of the others. SHOWDOWN was on even terms for the lead on the rail and gave way in the drive. STORM KING was hustled along in the backstretch, but could not draw clear and weakened. BODENS PAL showed nothing. ELCAN saved ground while under light restraint, moved up with a rush to dispose of PHANTOM HEELS and won with something left. GEE TEECEE was impeded going into the first turn, worked his way up between Jiorses and closed willingly. PHANTOM HEELS established a commanding lead quickly, then gave way steadily in the drive. PREPOTENTE bumped GEE TEECEE going into the first turn and caught tired horses. ANTE LIGHT had no excuse. WISE TIGER tired.
