PERCIEVE, alertly ridden assumed ! command at once, established a clear lead before reaching the stretch, then held on gamely under punishment to hold NO LEDDIE. The latter, a keen factor from the start, drifted out entering the stretch and, closing strongly when straight for the drive, was getting to the winner at the finish. NEAT AND TIDY lacked early speed, but finished fast. RED HORIZON, slow to reach best stride and far back to the stretch, closed with a rush, but could not reach the leaders. SWAY AGAIN held on well to the final furlong, then faltered LADY NINA was outrun. PLAY WISE, on the outside throughout, could not keep up. MISS TEXAS failed to stay after displaying brief speed. BROWN CLIPPER was through early. CHARIVARI BROKE OUT OF THE GATE BEFORE THE START AND RAN OFF AFTER UNSEATING RIDER, WAS ORDERED SCRATCHED AND WAGERS ON HIM IN THE REGULAR POOLS AND THE DAILY DOUBLE WERE REFUNDED. TOP VALLEY, forwardly placed from the start, assumed command after racing MISS NELEEN into defeat, then held on determinedly under punishment to withstand ERINSVILLE. The latter, permitted to drop back early, was sent around horses entering the stretch and, closing stoutly on his own courage, could not overtake the winner, although probably best. DOC ADAMS raced evenly to the stretch, then finished well under punishment. MISS ALL SWEEP failed to stay after displaying early speed. MISS NELEEN went to the front early, made the pace until inside the stretch, then gave way. TOLECA began well, but could not keep up. POTSEY tired. GLIDER PILOT raced wide. ALLDEPENDS began slowly and never entered serious contention. ALRUSHA, FRACTIOUS AT THE POST, FELL INSIDE THE STALL GATE, WAS INJURED AND ORDERED SCRATCHED. SOMA LAD, never far back, assumed command when sent to the outside entering the stretch and drew clear under brisk, urging. WAR HAL, outrun to the stretch, finished fast, but could not menace the winner. GOMEL, outrun to the final quarter, saved ground when sent up on the inside for the drive and made a bold bid before tiring. ON THE WAY assumed an early lead and made the pace to the stretch, but weakened during the drive. BIG DITCH was outrun. BOLO PAT could not keep up. OLOS STAR, fractious at the post, had to be returned to the paddock for a sub rider when jockey West was injured, began fast, but could not keep up after showing early speed. HIGH FREQUENCY went to the front at once, established a clear lead before reaching the stretch and, taken in hand, easily held the advantage to the finish. UNITED NATION, outrun to the stretch, was sent to the middle of the track for the drive and closed stoutly in a sharp effort. SECOND AVENUE raced evenly and had no mishap. BALLADETTE could not keep up after beginning alertly. MR. PILATE, away sluggishly, was hustled to reach serious contention, then tired. KINGBOLT never was a serious factor. MINNESOTA was outrun. BLUE BADGE, never far back, assumed command after five-eighths, continued determinedly under urging, but could not withstand the winner. MAYRAM, outrun early, moved up boldly nearing the stretch, but failed to rally when set down in the drive. FRERE JACQUES began sluggishly and never reached serious contention. MR. SWEET DREAM, forwardly placed but on the outside to the upper turn, raced SEQUENCE into defeat after entering the stretch, then held on determinedly to withstand EVANSTEP. The latter, outrun early and roughed near the three-eighths pole, came strongly when clear and was getting to the winner at the finish. OUR REQUEST raced evenly to the stretch, was sent to the" outside for the drive, then was unable to better her position while under brisk urging. BROWNIAN, slow to reach best stride and outrun to the final quarter, finished fast under punishment. SEQUENCE began fast, made the pace until inside the stretch, then faltered when challenged by SWEET DREAM. MISS MOMMY, on the inside from the start and in tight quarters nearing the stretch, was unable to better her position when clear for the drive. BLUE HELEN, between horses during the first three-eighths, made a mild bid entering the Stretch, then weakened nearing the finish. LITHE was never a serious factor. PORTERS BROOM raced keenly throughout, took command after three-eighths of a mile, bore over on SUN HEROD during the final furlong and was unable to withstand the latter although easily best of the others. BIG STORY moved up at the stretcH turn, but could not better his position under hard riding in the drive. TOUCH CONTROL lacked early foot anJ was never prominent.
