With Pleasure Tops Lincoln Sprint Has to Carry Only 107-Pound Feather Breault Stakes Performer AndTwelve Others Entered In King Nadi Purse Today WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, III, June 4. — Oscar J. Breaults stakes performer, With Pleasure, heads an overnight field of 13 named for the King Nadi Purse, a six-furlong dash that features Lincoln Fields well-balanced Monday program at Washington Park. The entering of With Pleasure in this allowance test came as somewhat of a surprise to trainers with other horses in the King Nadi as they undoubtedly didnt expect to be up against such a proposition as the three-time conqueror of Calumet Farms mighty gelding, Armed, back in 1947. The only consoling factor for these horsemen is that With Pleasure is the lone one on the "also eligible" list, which means that unless at least one horse is declared he will automatically be eliminated. Chances are, though, that With Pleasure will be very much in the post parade and with what amounts to less than a feather of 107 pounds on his shoulders and the nations leading jockey, Logan Batcheller, in the saddle, he should be one of the shortest-priced favorites of the Illinois season. As a matter of fact, With Pleasure is almost a certainty to start, for Breault also has Deerfield entered in the same event and it is his prerogative to declare the latter, which would make With Pleasure eligible. Listed to face the formidable Chicago-owned star are M. H. VanBergs Favorito, M. J. Dants Southern Pride, Mrs. L. Wagners My Sister, Mrs. A. M. Creechs Danada Red and Mrs. R. Luginbuels Beneva, which will run coupled as an entry; W. M. Pea-veys Jett-Jett, Mrs. Ada L. Rices One Alone, G. Gerbers Sudden Scare, B. Endo-vina and F. Alesias Countess In, W. Yab-lonowskis High Shine and Eldorado Farms Pad Lock. Raced Twice This Year With Pleasure, essaying to return to the form that made him one of the top sprinters of the country a couple seasons back, has started twice at the current meeting. In the Crete Handicap on opening day he was assigned 120 pounds, only two less than Delegate, and he showed an excellent effort, finishing third after making a wide sweep of the turn. He was beaten only two and one-half lengths. Last Saturday he was heavily supported to reverse the tables on Delegate, but showed a poor effort, although the reason could have been traced to some interference he encountered on the far turn. After the race, however, his trainer, Clyde Troutt, made no excuses. He said the six-year-old has been training smartly, but that it was his opinion that he is the type of horse who needs competition to get back in top condition. Apparently Mondays sprint is part of his training program for important stakes engagements coming up at Arlington Park, where he may be asked to face Coaltown, Citation, Armed and other greats and near-greats in the Calumet Farm stable. The general opinion is that 1 to 2 will be a big price on With Pleasure in the King Nadi, and thus locating the most formidable contenders is quite difficult. Countess In displayed a high flight of speed in her most recent effort but tired in the stretch and succumbed to Clevelanders late rally. Southern Pride, a former classy sort who raced in stakes company, has not been at his best here of late, but appears to fit well with all but the favorite. Favorito comes off a good winning race against ,000 opposition, which makes him a long way from being in the same class with the Breault star. Pad Lock has enjoyed a short rest since William H. Bishop took over the Eldorado Stable to train and, under his "magic touch," could improve. It is remembered that the gelding still holds the track record for five and one-half furlongs at this track. Jett-Jett is reported to have been working smartly, but his races are poor.
