Crouch; bred by King Ranch WENT TO POST— 5:31. OFF AT 5-32 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. WILLING HAND, shuffled back soon after the start, was steadied along to the turn, where she rallied from between horses to close with a belated rush and was up in the closing strides. PHEECIA was never far back, raced on the outside throughout and, while making a determined bid through the stretch, was not quite good enough. FRIO QUEST, badly outrun to the final quarter, found his best stride while under strong handling and was going fastest of all at the end. OXFORD BLUE, hard held while far back to the last quarter, found racing room between horses when set down for the drive and made a bold bid in the late stages. ROSALU wrested command while under extreme pressure in the early stretch, but had nothing left for the final drive. NEWSPRINT was used up early in disposing a of ROUGH ORDY. COMIC ANN was never a factor. Scratched— 75812 Zacaplay, 103; 75980 Col. Wiggins, 114; 65605 Eastonian, 114; 75152 Sugar Drop, 108. Overweight— Pheecia, 2 pounds.
