HYHUSTLE broke sluggishly, quickly recovered, was sent up fast on the outside, challenged for command nearing the final quarter, drew clear and won as his rider pleased. CALL VIOLET broke alertly, maintained a slight advantage while setting the pace, turned back repeated bids until the winner challenged, but was best of the others. SUNSHADE lacked a late rally. LANGUID LADY finished with a rush between horses. FIRE RAIDER was well placed and had no mishap. TOM FERRIS lacked early speed. MILK PACT flattened out when put to pressure. OVERPOWER passed tiring horses. HEAD SHOW showed nothing. POUTING MAC flashed brief speed. APRON FACE was outrun. FRENCH LURE, kept within striking distance of the pace, rallied mildly in the closing stages. MIDDLE MAN passed tiring horses. FARM MAID raced evenly. BALLADANTE opened a long lead at once, was taken under ! stout restraint, then failed to get going again when roused. GAY FRANKA gave up after chasing the pace for a quarter mile. DUST SCREEN, quickest to begin, was kept close to the pace between horses, lost ground on the far turn when pinched back slightly, recovered quickly to regain position and outfinished THEODORE. The latter weaved between horses in the late stages and just missed in a sustained drive. KILAYR, never far off the pace, rallied when clear and finished with good energy. GLADYS H. engaged the leader soon after the start, was forced to lose ground on the outside, then faltered. BUSTER HOPE finished stoutly under steady pressure. WAVERLY had no mishap. SUPER FOOT raced with the pace to the final furlong, then tired. RESPIRE was in the thick of contention to the final quarter mile. MUSKETEER broke smartly, was reserved close to the pace for a half, came through on thenside to assume command, drew out under pressure and held his advantage over KLIMIE. The latter worked her way up gradually on the outside, drew abreast of the leaders entering the stretch, but lacked a late rally while trying to bear in. WHITE HAWK was steadied when unable to run with the early pace, responded when roused and closed stoutly in the final furlong. WITH EASE tired after forcing the pace to the final turn. STREAK OF DAWN, a forward factor to the final turn, flattened out under pressure. TOP HONORS was never prominent. GOOD EGG broke sluggishly and was unable to improve position. GOING AWAY, taken under strong £ restraint soon after the start and steadied to the far turn, moved readily when roused, came around the outside of ONE HITTER, was quickly straightened for the drive; drew clear and widened lead under pressure. ONE HITTER was well placed on the outside, moved gradually nearing the quarter pole and continued on gamely j under strong pressure, but was unable to reach the winner. BEST DOINGS stumbled leaving the gate, quickly -recovered, assumed command before a half, was under strong restraint, drew away from SNEAK when challenged, * saved ground, but tired in the final stages. HALT was taken back off the pace and steadied along the inside *• for six furlongs, moved to the outside for the drive, but lacked a strong rally. SNEAK reserved close to the £ pace for six furlongs, failed to respond when set down. ENGEL MAN passed tiring horses. MAGNA CHARTA weakened after six furlongs. VAR was unable to keep up. SCIPIO broke alertly, was kept within striking distance of the pace on the extreme outside, rallied when roused and was up in the late stages to outfinish GEE WHIZ. The latter, a forward factor on the far turn, was shuffled back as the field bunched, recovered under steady pressure and was catching the winner at the end. OIDENASAI, outrun early, weaved his way through the field and closed stoutly. DADDY JOE came from far back to close with a rush along the inside. MR. BUSTER engaged the leaders soon .after the start and assumed command under pressure, then faltered. EVENING ROSE tired after forcing the pace. LOOKOUT SON flattened out badly. SUN EMBER, forwardly placed for a half mile, dropped back, was roused and regained lost ground along the inside. WARRIOR PRINCE was never a serious factor.
