All American Handicap Boosted to 5,000 Prize Atlantic City Feature Will Be Run at Mile and Three-Sixteenths ATLANTIC CITY, N. J., June 4. — The All American Handicap, one of the major attractions at the local course since the inaugural of racing at that grounds in 1946, increases to 5,000 in added money this season, so remaining one of the principal fixtures to be renewed during the 45-day meeting opening August 11. The race places the special on a par with the newly installed Atlantic City Turf Handicap, the pair being the leading stakes to be decided during the session. Both are distance affairs, the All American being at one mile and three-sixteenths, a furlong farther than the grass event. Three-year-olds and upward will be eligible for the two. Some of the best routers in the country will be gathered in the Atlantic Coast sector by the date of the All American and the additional 0,000 in prize money promises to draw many of these here. Not improbably, the mile and three-sixteenths test will bring forth the smartest field in its young history. In addition to the above pair, nine other stakes will be run during the meeting, a group which includes the Homebred, a six-fulong dash for juveniles. It is limited to newcomers foaled in this state. The date schedule for these stakes now is in the making and will be made public shortly. Eight will have a Saturday running with one being decided on Labor Day and another at the meetings inaugural. The Homebred will be a mid-week attraction.
