FRENCH NAVY was forced wide at the upper turn, was sent to the inside entering the stretch and, after taking command, bumped BILLY BUMPS repeatedly during the drive, but lasted to hold the latter safe. FRENCH NAVY was disqualified for fouling BILLY BUMPS and placed second. BILLY BUMPS, never far back, moved to FRENCH NAVY during the stretch run, was bothered by the latter during the drive, but finished strongly. MONTCALM was sent into command early, made the pace for three-eighths, then drifted out while tiring. ATOKA LAD raced evenly without mishap. BONNIE DONNIE was outrun. SMART EDDIE was never dangerous.
