"Glenn McCarthy, who would have had d an Ail-American conference team in Hous-n ;- ton in 1951 if the league had not folded, 1, will be the operator, along with a group of f men with whom he is identified," Nealon n wrote in his column. McCarthy, oil millionaire and Shamrock k Hotel owner, steadfastly had said he was ■ interested in professional football for Houses - ton, but that "there was nothing new on it it at present."
