Eight Consecutive Favorites Score at Garden State Park GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 12. — Garden State Parks racing programs of Thursday and yesterday sparkled with the best streak of formful running in the 10-year history of the big Camden plant. Eight consecutive favorites thundered down to the wire in front, starting with the fourth race Thursday and ending with the third race yesterday. The winning public choices were, in order, Never Better, Ginger Boots, Sun Bahram, Tarport Kid, Operator, Shine On, Okamsel and Chris-inda. The charm was finally broken by the margin of a neck in yesterdays fourth race when heavily played Ann Del hung on to beat the fast-closing Squeal, the favorite. Favorites came right back in the fifth and seventh races — Wonderment and Vortex, respectively — before the day ended with a heavily-supported second choice, Castus Foot, winning over the favored Wood-Lyn Stable entry of Let Me Thru. Favorites have won 40 of the 96 races of the meeting — a total of 42 per cent. During the 1950 spring meeting there were 30 per cent winning favorites.
