BUFFER, unhurried when outrun early, came out for the drive and, after disposing of JULIANA, drew clear under brisk urging. JULIANA assumed a slight lead entering the stretch, tired during the late stages and was no match for the winner. RAIDER LaRUE was unable to improve her position during the late stages KATHLEEN R saved ground to no avail. SHATTERED went into the air at the start and lost all chance. SCRAP IRON was through after three furlongs. FIRSTLING quit badly once displaced. JOHLINE was always outrun. KAPINISCA, always within striking distance, took command with a rush entering the stretch and increased her advantage to win as her rider pleased. FRANKIE D. gave way to the winner after five furlongs, then held on willingly to be best of the others. ESPIRITU was forced to take the complete overland route when making his stretch bid ALBULIL tired under punishment. BEST BUTTONS had no mishap. SURVEY, forced to take up sharply when in close quarters on the first turn, failed to recover. TRY AGAIN began sluggishly. LUCKY CHAMP retired steadily after showing brief speed. OFFEND, prominent from the beginning, raced WILD TEDDY into defeat, took command when ready and continued on gamely thereafter under a steady hand ride. COPPER ISLAM moved up on the outside to challenge the winner nearing the furlong marker, but lacked a menacing rally. SIGNIOR, outrun early, rallied too late to seriously endanger the top ones. TIMUS had no apparent mishap. WILD TEDDY was much used early and had little left. WHIZ-A-BIT went into the air at the start and trailed throughout. Overweight— Wild Teddy, 1 pound. ROADRUNNER, on the outside during the early running, came between horses to reach the lead midway of the final furlong and won drawing away. S. McLAUGHLIN, slow to reach her best stride, came out for the drive and finished resolutely in a sharp effort. NON FERRO gave way suddenly inside the stretch and was unable to withstand the top ones. MAGNUS passed tiring horses. YALE failed to gain the lead and tired. SHOW PLACE and PLAY AGAIN were much used engaging one another for the initial advantage and had nothing left. CONNIES BOY, in close attendance to the early leaders, responded gamely to punishment and, after reaching the lead inside the stretch, maintained his advantage over GREYTOWN. The latter lost ground on each turn, was guided to the outside for the drive and easily was best of the others. RETICULE held sway to the stretch, then weakened. FUSSY C. J. raced wide. FALSE moved up boldly on the inside entering the stretch to reach nearly even terms with the leader, but lacked a rally. MR. FOX failed to respond when shaken for the ultimate test. BATTLE H tired during the drive. KOSADUS lacked speed as usual. BOO BOO SHOO was unable to keep up. NOT SORRY was never a forward factor. GUS G. was through after a half mile. FANCY FESTIVAL, under light restraint for a half mile, disposed of MANEEN with a rush on the far turn, drifted out entering the stretch, interfered with FLAGLER, was disqualified for fouling and placed second. FLAGLER, outrun early, was carried out on the final turn by FANCY FESTIVAL and was unable to overtake the latter when straightened. SPANAQUA closed with his usual belated rush to be best of the others. GAY COMMANDO lacked speed. PETES BEST quit, as did MANEEN. WISE POLICY was outrun. WISE ZAC quit to a walk.
