RIVER was sent to the front early, opened a good lead before entering the stretch, but was briskly ridden during the drive to withstand MR. TWEETY. Jhe latter raced nearest the top one after the start, closed resolutely under punishment, but could not overtake the winner. BEST OF BREED, racing greenly and away slowly, gradually improved position after the start and, taken out for the drive; finished willingly, but probably needed her race. LEASE HOUND held on well in a good effort and had no excuse. LEAS SON lacked early speed. BROWN SCOUT, knocked back before going a quarter mile, failed to recover. SO GRAND tired during the stretch run. SURE MAC began alertly, but dropped far back after the break. MISS LARKSPUR had early speed, but bore out badly during the last three-eighths mile and lost all chance. Scratched— 27444 Scotch Jack, 120. SIXTH RACE 3-4 MILE out of chute. TIGER MATT was hustled to the front early, opened a good advantage entering the stretch, but was briskly ridden thereafter to hold a safe lead to the finish SALE PRICE began fast, engaged TIGER MATT after the start, but was not good enough for the latter. NIGHT PARADE lacked early speed, but finished fast when sent to the inside for the stretch run. ARPEGE was outrun. BEAUTY SPOT was caught between ARPEGE and NIGHT PARADE during the drive, was forced to ease back and could not threaten when finally clear. Corrected weight— Sale Price, 114; Beauty. Spot, 114. MISS PLACE stumbled after the break, made up ground steadily when in stride and, responding to brisk urging during the stretch run wore down the leaders in the last sixteenth. PRISSY MARY, on the outside throuqhout, finished fast under punishment, but could net hold the winner. SENATOR GU?, never far back, raced well and had no excuse. GOOD-SHOPPER lacked early speed, but closed fast. WHACKER PRIDE tired during the drive. HAPPY LEE was outrun. COIN FLIP was never prominent. GREEN THUMB assumed an early lead, made the pace to the last eighth, then gave way. ALPHAS CHOICE tired after showing early speed. PARKVIEW quit badly after racing well to the stretch. MAGNETIC STAR was sent to the front at once, made the pace to the stretch under steady rating and won with speed in reserve DONNADOON forwardly placed and in hand to the stretch, finished well under urging, but could not get to the winner COPPER POT, outrun and saving ground to the last three-eighths, could not threaten the leaders when set down for the drive. ANOTHER ENORA tired after engaging MAGNETIC STAR to the stretch CHILLIA QUEEN was never a serious factor. DRAKE WIDGEON began sluggishly. SQUIDGE had no excuse. HAPPY ALL could not keep up after showing brief speed and appeared unfit for his engagement. Attendance, 7,439; Total Mutuel Pool. S393.750.
