OFF AT 2:11 EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. GOLDEN BOLT, well ridden, went ! to the front early, made the pace under occasional urging to the stretch, then gamely withstood a long drive and lasted to hold BUBBLE GUM. The latter, a sharp factor from the beginning, was sent to the outside of GOLDEN BOLT for the stretch run, reached the lead between calls, but could not retain the advantage and iust I missed. LATE BREEZE lacked early speed and could not better his position when set down in the drive. NITRO FIRE, away sluggishly, passed tired horses during the stretch run. ALL BRITISH had no excuse. GAY LIBERTY tired after showing early speed. ROBIN RED began fast, but could not keep up after the start. AIR PATROL, never far back, went to the front after racing by DOUBLE GIFT, continued willingly when -set down through the stretch and held PUSSY WILLOW safe. The latter moved up boldly entering the stretch, finished well under urging, but could not overtake the top one. FIGHTING JOHN lacked early speed, was sent to the outside for the drive and closed determinedly in a good effort. HENNY PENNY failed to stay after showing early speed and was roughed during the stretch run. DOUBLE GIFT made the pace until inside the stretch, then weakened. FLORIDA FARMER was outrun. GRANDMAS DAY safe. The latter, forwardly placed from the beginning, saved ground throughout, finished well under punishment, but could not overtake the winner. MR. SIG raced evenly and had no excuse. CORUSCATE moved up fast after the start raced GALLAJACI into defeat entering the stretch and drew clear under brisk handling. GALLAJACI, away alertly, made the pace for three-eighths, gave way to CORUSCATE, but continued determinedly under punishment and lasted to best the others. AIRTROOP lacked early speed, but finished fast FAST BREAK, outrun to the stretch, made up ground during the drive. CORKTOWN was unable to threaten the leaders when set down in the drive. OBRIENS PAT tired after racing prominently to the stretch. HIKES POINT could not keep up and bore out during the drive. ARAB MISS began fast, but dropped out of serious contention immediately after the break. PRETTY TRICKshowed nothing. Scratched— 286453 Lazieven, 112. IS THERE, away sluggishly, steadily improved position while saving ground to the stretch, assumed command when settled for the drive and held ALPHARA safe. The latter worked way forward to the stretch, was on the outside for the drive and finished willingly under brisk handling, but could not reach the top one. FERRO FOX was sent to the front early, made the pace until inside the stretch, then faltered. MONEY LENDER lacked early speed. DOGS UP had a rough trip. RAVEN REWARD tired after racing prominently to the stretch. ILLUSTRATE J engaged FERRO FOX for a half mile, then gave way. TEXAS RAIN began fast, but bore out badly thereafter -and lost all chance. BEE LEE TEE moved up fast on the outside nearing the stretchturn, remained in the middle of the track for the drive and, responding to punishment, bore in but wore down the leaders during the last sixteenth. SUFFKI, a keen factor from the start, was kept to the inside for the stretch "run and closed willingly, but could not withstand the winner. TRAVELER assumed the lead at once, made the pace until inside the stretch, then faltered. BULLY BOY lacked speed, but closed strongly when sent to the inside for the drive. BIG HERALDER saved ground while racing within striking distance of the leaders to the stretch, responded to punishment thereafter and disposed of COOL JUDGMENT in the last strides. COOL JUDGMENT assumed command at once, made the pace for three quarters under steady handling, held on gamely when set down through the stretch but could not withstand the winner. MIO LIPS, outrun to the final quarter, was sent to the outside for the stretch run and closed fast under brisk urging. JOES LADDIE held on well in a sharp effort and had no mishap. DUSTLIGHT tired after showing speed to the stretch. AMANECER was never dangerous. CANINA SIS was through early.
