The three-year-old The Abbott brown gelding, owned by Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Rumley, Princeton, HI., made a commendable showing against the horse which registered the fastest two-year-old time in 1950. Floating Dream covered the mile in 2:12 on an off track, beating Dale Wingay by one and three-quarters lengths. However, in the one and one-eighth miles, Floating Dream just lasted to beat Rumleys three-year-old by a half-length in 2:27%. Driven by Clarence Curtis, Ladys Leon is likely to be an odds-on choice for the ninth race on the program.
