Cancel Los Angeles Bout Between Carter and Trigo LOS ANGELES, Calif., June 9 UP.— A scheduled non-title bout here between newly-crowned world lightweight champion Jimmy Carter of New York and Mario Trigo of Mexico has .been cancelled because Carter was injured in training, it was announced today. Olympic Auditorium promoter Cal Eaton said Carter requested a postponement of the June 19 fight after receiving an injury in an eastern gymnasium. Eaton said a new date has not been set for the fight. The promoter and matchmaker Babe McCoy originally attempted to match Carter with Art "Golden Boy" Aragon in a non-title bout, but Aragon demanded a title fight or nothing. The June 19 date will be filled with a bout between former featherweight champ Willie Pep and former bantamweight kingpin Manuel Ortiz.
