Deadline Set on Entries For Oak Brook Steeplechase Entries for the iith annual Oak Brook Steeplechase to be held June 23 northwest of suburban Hinsdale, will close at midnight Saturday, June 16. Entry blanks have been mailed to leading owners and stables throughout the country, according to Michael W. Butler, president of the Hunts Racing Association, sponsor of the event, along with the condition book for the event!. Butler attended the Mississippi Valley steeplechase this week-end in St. Louis to receive entries for the local face. The Oak Brook steeplechase will feature six races, four of them over obstacles, including a three-mile run over timber for the famed Oak Brook Challenge Cup and a purse of 00. ~ Among the owners whose colors will be represented are: Carter P. Brown, Tryon, N. C; Richard K. Mellon and Lee Chandler HI., Pittsburgh; P. T. Cheff, Holland, Mich.; Dr. John B. Youmans, Nashville, Term.; Jack Brandt, Indianapolis; Charles D. Pierce Jr. and Edgar Thom, Detroit, and Paul Butler, Theodore Mohlman, Charles H. Wacker m.t David H. Cum-mings, Charles C. Jelke and A. D. Plamon-don in. from the Chicago area.
