CHAGIN, allowed to race on his own courage while far back early, circled the entire field while rallying nicely and was up in the final stride to gain the decision over TOWNHOUSE. The latter, unhurried early, responded gamely to attain command nearing the end, then gave way. BASES LOADED disposed of ERNIE 0. to draw clear along the backstretch, held sway to midstretch and weakened. PRICKLY, formidable from the start, became a definite threat entering the stretch and weakened. WELL MY WORD was through early, as was ERNIE 0. BATTLE CRY was unable to attain command and quit. CACTUS FOOT trailed the field early, raced extremely wide, while rallying and was under pressure to wear down BLACK PEPPER. The latter was rated while within striking distance, moved to the fore entering the stretch, but could not resist the winner. TRANSHOT held a commanding early lead, was not unduly punished when engaged, remained with the pace to the stretch and faltered. DIXIE YANK loomed a threat on the turn and weakened. SEA-O-DEE. moved through along the inside to attain a narrow advantage after six furlongs, then gave way. SEXTANT weakened after five furlongs. Scratched— 306872 Swyndor, 107. SYLVAN ROCK responded well to outfinish the others. WAR PHAR raced forwardly placed, but lacked a menacing rally. BLUE HELMET was hustled along on the inside, but could not keep up. DR. GROVER B., slow to settle into best stride, improved his position from the outside, wore down the leaders in midstretch and drew clear. GOYAS PASS raced RUSTY into defeat to wrest command in the early stretch, then was unable to withstand the winners bid. BIG SWEET closed well from last place to wear down OCEAN BREEZE. The latter raced forwardly placed and weakened. RUSTY saved ground while holding a narrow advantage for three furlongs, but faltered in the final test. SPRINGBUCK could not keep up. COCHISE, eased back when POST CARD moved to the inside early, rejoined the leaders from the outside after six furlongs, assumed command with ease and, after drawing clear on the final turn, retained his advantage while being mildly urged. BIT 0 FATE, well back early, improved his position steadily and rallied impressively under his light burden, .although no match for the winner. POST CARD, rated in front early, was not rushed when displaced by ROYAL GOVERNOR, but lacked sufficient rally to again become a threat. SUN BAHRAMS rally enabled him to catch only tired horses. ROYAL GOVERNOR wrested command entering the backstretch while still under stout restraint, but faltered once displaced. LOTOWHITE was never a factor and turned in a dull effort. YES YOU, hard held while moving into the runner-up position on the turn, responded to strong pressure through the stretch and wore down EAGLE EYE. The latter set the pace without -serious opposition through the first five furlongs, then was unable to prevail. TOREADOR saved ground while moving into contention and fought it out gamely. LARAN, after being in a bit close turning for home, closed with good energy. VAMANOS made up ground in a fair effort. PUPPET shewed speed, but could not keep up. ABBOTTSTOWN faltered early. The latter went to the front at the break, was well-rated while setting the pace and tired slightly at the end. LANCER forced the early pace and weakened in the late stages. BELLISAN was well-placed in the first part, but lacked an effective rally. ADELPHIA threatened on the far turn and flattened out KING FREEDOMS was outrun. ANALII was never a factor. SHADOW SHOT caught tired horses. EN ROUTE showed little. GREMLIN was through early. PENNASK .turned in a disappointing effort. CHANDELIER failed to menace at any stage.
