Northville Opens Program With Inaugural Pace Tonight NORTHVILLE DOWNS, Northville, Mich., June 9. — With more than 650 horses on the grounds and stall space at a premium, Northville Downs is ready to open its eighth season of harness racing Monday night. Adding to this the news of big attendance and interest at tracks with earlier meets, officials of Northville Downs freely predict the greatest season inhistory. For the past 10 days, Orlow G. Owen, operational manager, has been turning down request after request for stalls, choosing only the cream of the trotters and pacers for the remaining few spaces. Heading the 2,000 staked program are the perennial. Governors Trot and the Michigan Pacing Derby. Both carry 0,000 purses as usual. Heading Monday nights first program will be the ,000 Inaugural Pace, which will see a field of nine pacing over the mile distance twice, in the sixth and ninth 1 races. ... . Si;/
