| Irishman Wins Harrisburg Dash HARRISBURG, Pa., June 9 UP.— Jim Reardon of Ireland, running for the Shan-ahan Catholic Club of Philadelphia, won the 440-yard dash today in the 39th annual middle Atlantic states AAU track and field meet. Reardon, the 1948 Irish Olympic team captain, outlasted defending champion Bill Lockhart of Harrisburg in the stretch to win in 49.3 seconds. Yale star Vic Franks won the shot put with a heave of 50 feet, 2and inches, five inches short of his meet record. Janet Moreau, Providence, R. I., set a record for the womens 100 yard dash which she won in 11.7 seconds, one-tenth of a second faster than the old mark held by Catherine Geary of the Philadelphia Turners.
