Monmouth Park Schedules Defense Bond Day June 16 OCEANPORT, N. J., June 9.— The Monmouth Park Jockey Club will entertain a large number of celebrities on openiisr day, June 16, which has officially been designated as Defense Bond Day .«* **a races. President Ambry L. Haskell is to welcome Brig. "Gen. Harry Reichelderfer, commanding general of Fort Monmouth; Rear Adm. Charles L. Austin of the Ba-yonne laval Depot, Bayonne; Bill McDonald, executive officer of the U. S. Treasury Department; Raymond A. tiien-non, state director of the U. S. Savings Bonds division* and others. The Fort Monmouth Band will set the tempo for the occasion by officially open--ing the meeting with the playing of the Star Spangled Banner, and af-er th running of the Defense Bond Puiw, fifth on the inaugural program, the visitors are to gather at the winners circle for impressive ceremonies. McDonald will present a plaque to president Hasketf on behalf of the Treasury Department, 1-enoring his activities at the course in benah of the Defense Bond drive. Fort Monmouth will later release several hundred homing pigeons from the infield as a novel spectacle, "the birds circling the track to ascertain their bearing before returning to their home loft.
