Michigan Notes DETROIT, Mich., June 9. L. A. Wilkerson, Miami Shores, Florida thoroughbred owner, arrived in Detroit for a week and will remain for a week of racing. Robert F. Curran is conditioning Isocrates, Gold Sabre, Desdemona, and Jamitchie here for Wilkerson. Adelard Lamoureux reported that he sold the plater, Wintag, to J. A. Stafford and the five-year-old gelding has been shipped to Woodbine for campaigning. Terms of the transaction were private and Stafford will train Wintag for future engagements. J. Logan Wheat has reserved stalls for two horses that are to be shipped to the local course from Douglas Park, Louisville. Sam Hoggatt sent word that he will ship several horses to Detroit from Fairmount Park. Hoggatt stated that he intends to race in Michigan throughout the entire 1951 season. Presiednt E. E. Dale Shaffer, of the Michigan Racing Association, returned to the local track after a quick trip to his Coldstream Stud where he inspected the yearlings that farm manager Charles Kenney is preparing for the Keeneland Summer Sales. Shaffer reported that the Blue Grass area received some much needed rainfall while he was at his Lexington thoroughbred nursery. Jockey Chuck Parke, who is making a comeback in Detroit this season after several years out of the saddle, is now down to his best riding weight. Parkes family, three | youngsters and Mrs. Parke recently arrived I here from Florida.
