. , Shag Tails Engages Suggested in Sprint Speedy Shagrin Homebred Carries 122 While Meeting Recent Shaffer Acquisition DETROIT, Mich., June 28. The Michigan Racing Associations successful season will continue Monday at this fashionable course and the Isle Royale Purse at six furlongs will headline an attractive program. Six of the quicker three-year-olds quartered at the local oval are scheduled to meet in the Isle Royale and Milton Sha-grins homebred colt, Shag Tails, is to shoulder high weight of 122 pounds under the allowances. Johnny Nazareth will handle the fleet son of Alsab and Pig Tails. Mrs. E. E. Dale Shaffers recently-purchased Suggested, who passed an engagement today in the Greenfield Purse to make his local debut in the Isle Royale, gets In the Monday feature with 120 pounds and he will be ridden by the veteran but capable Willie Lee Johnson. Suggested is expected to give Shag Tails quite a tussle while Henry Forrests Lonoke Flash, 115, and Pollard and Harkins Ever Bright, 112 pounds, a. powerful entry, also rated highly at the weights. C. E. Buckleys Red Romeo, 112, and H. W. Kellehers Big Jet, a pair of recent Detroit winners, completes the small, but select Isle Royale Purse probable starting band. Suggested, chestnut son of Requested and Poppy Seed, successful in five outings this year, was acquired from Brookmeade Stable by the Shaffer establishment but disliked the heavy track prevailing in the Warren Wright Memorial and was unplaced in the Arlington stake. He is expected to show to better advantage if he catches a firm track for his Isle Royale Purse outing. Suggested, a notoriously poor "work" horse, stepped a half mile last Thursday morning in :48, a move that was quite satisfactory to trainer H. H. Battle. Ran Third in Derby Trial Shag Tails, star of the Cleveland, Ohio-owned Shagrin Stable, ran x third in the Derby Trial this spring to Hill Gail and Arroz while Sub Fleet finished fourth in the eight furlongs Churchill Downs fixture. The Shagrin colt also was fifth in the field of 11 three-year-olds contesting the Warren Wright Memorial and he won over a speedy field here June 10, capturing the three-quarters mile Industrial Capital Purse in 1:11 while carrying a bulky 122 pounds burden. Shag Tails was impressive during the Saturday morning training period, whirling four furlongs in :47, handily. Lonoke Flash, well-made Occupation-sired gelding, is a double winner this year and registered a new five and one-half furlongs track record of 1:04 at Oaklawn Park March 29 while earning major honors in the Fleet Handicap. Ever Bright, quick Sun Again filly, makes a suitable running-mate for Lonoke Flash and she is a good stakes winner, having won the Jeanne dArc and Connors Memorial during her juvenile campaign. Red Romeo, a handsome homebred son of Amphitheatre and Neds Affinity, certainly cannot be counted out of the Isle Royale. One of the most improved racers on the grounds, the Buckley star whipped nigh class rivals in Maryland before shipment to the Motor City and he recently defeated Dixville, Cullerton, Scherzo and Round n Round in the three-quarters mile Sault Ste. Marie Purse, streaking the sprint distance in a neat 1:11.
