Rilmas Widower After Repeat in Central Plaza Harry Wilson to Drive Hammond Pacer in Stake at Sportsmans SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, 111., June 28. A couple of star pacers go after their second straight victories at Sportsmans Park Monday night- as the Cicero half-miler moves into its second week of sulky racing. Rilmas Widower, five -year-old brown gelding from Stockton, Kansas, won his first west side start last Tuesday and will be shooting for his.fifth victory in 10 starts in the race which will be named for the Central Plaza Hotel. Owned by Philo Hammond of Stockton, and driven by crafty Harry Wilson, Rilmas Widower won in 2 :04 at Santa Anita this spring. Ima Hanover Dale will be shooting for number lour of the season and under the standard of the Rizzuto Brothers of Chicago. Red Ross will pilot the gallant brown mare. Other standout starters in the ,044 stake are Adah Tass, Dale Wingay, and Volo Dillard. Edgar Leonard, who has taken a commanding lead among the drivers, will be shooting for two straight with gallant little Poplar Tom in the eighth race stake event. Leonard, who has had outstanding success with young horses in the past couple of years, chalked up six victories in the first four nights, winning three on the Thursday program. The Lincoln, HI. flash scored 1T wins in 67 starts at Maywood in the spring and should be among the top drivers at Sportsmans even though he will be campaigning part of the meeting on the Grand Circuit. Leonard will have to beat such top pacers as V. E. Lambert, Even Direct, Sheldon Pointer and Dusty Hal. Sheldon Pointer has been under new colors recently since Mrs. Virginia Henson purchased the veteran from the A. D. Knapp stable. Mrs. Henson is high on Sheldon Point and hopes to have him join such good pacers that she has handled as Jimmy Peter, Annville and Curley P. Grattan. Gene Riegle could cause Leonard the most trouble. At 23 he has blossomed into one of the nations top drivers. Even Direct is a dark horse because he can never attain a consistency. However, when its his night there are few tougher.
